Iceland Series
In February 2025, I visited Iceland for the first time. And the scenery was just magical. Travelling around the ring road, I got to see some of the most breathtaking landscapes I have ever seen. Iceland is one of the most beautiful places, and I am still working on capturing those experiences in paintings.

Crater Sunrise
Acrylic on canvas
25x20cm, 2025
Another take on the Hverfjall crater. My third iteration of this view! This piece captures more of the warmth from the sunrise rather than the snowy-winter feel of the previous versions.

Northern Lights Study
Acrylic on canvas panel
25x20cm, 2025
I really hoped to see the northern lights when I visited Iceland, but I didn't quite expect it to be as surreal as it was. Being able to see the aurora literally dancing across the sky is an experience I will never forget.

The Crater View
Acrylic on canvas
100x50cm, 2025
Hverfjall Crater, Iceland
Visiting Iceland, I stayed in a guesthouse in the middle of one of the lava fields. The feature of the accomodation was "a crater view", and I was just blown away by that. It was February so there was snow everywhere, and the crater stood out against the landscape. In the morning from our window, we got to see the sun rising over the crater. One of my favourite parts of the trip.

Akureyri Street View
Acrylic on canvas
20x25cm, 2025
This piece was created using only downwards brushstrokes, which created the perfect effect for this winter scene.

Black Beach Silhouettes
Acrylic on canvas panel
25x20cm, 2025
I absolutely loved this scene to paint. It was a very foggy grey scene down by the beach and I got to work with a slightly different colour pallet to bring it to life. The rock formations are what caught my eye. This piece captures the scene at the Black Beach in Vik, Iceland.

A Crater View
Acrylic on canvas panel
40x30cm, 2025
This painting was the study before the larger version. My first time painting the Hverfjall Crater from Iceland, and the sunrise above it. The snow had created these zebra-like stripes on the crater which made it stand out even more on the lava field.

Icelandic Ridge
Acrylic on canvas panel
30x24cm, 2025
Another of my Iceland series - this painting explored the use of negative space to enhance the focal point of the image which was of course the mountain ridges and the glowing sun through the clouds. The orange complimented the icy blues of this winter scene.

Icy Reflections
Acrylic on wooden canvas
30x23cm, 2025
This piece captures the stunning landscape surrounding the Blue Lagoon in Iceland at sunrise. The Blue Lagoon was one of the highlights of my trip - I can't believe Iceland is a real place!

Vestrahorn View
Acrylic on canvas panel
30x24cm, 2025
One of many incredible views from Iceland was when I visited Vestrahorn mountain and viking village. The viking boat with the mountain in the back was a scene I absolutely had to capture. The stillness of the water and the reflections gave such serenity to the experience, and I had to reflect that by using a softer colour pallet.
